About Us

Fascinating Rhythm is a successful Bristol-based ladies barbershop and a cappella chorus.

Traditional barbershop has four singing parts.  These are:

• Tenor - the highest voice part, providing the light, shimmering harmony
• Lead - often sings the melody which is the main tune that the audience hears
• Baritone - completes the barbershop chord structure, often weaving above and below the lead line
• Bass - the lowest voice part, providing the foundation of the chord

We are a well-established and dynamic chorus who  love to perform at all kinds of events including corporate events, parties, weddings, shows and competitions.  Book us here.

At Fascinating Rhythm, we strive for musical excellence through regular rehearsal, commitment and the dedication of our members. But being part of our chorus is about so much more than singing.

We value the teamwork, friendships and the sense of community that grows from singing together, along with the peer support and wider social connections that being part of a thriving chorus can bring. We also recognise the many wellbeing benefits of spending time with like-minded people, making music and sharing the joy of singing together.

We are proud to be members of LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers) and we regularly take part in the national convention. This barbershop competition sees many choruses taking part from across the UK. We also benefit from high-level education provided by LABBS including singing, music, performance and club management, LABBS provide an annual rolling program of events, training and access to high-level coaching.  There are around 60 choruses with LABBS membership. 

You will find us singing wherever we can, at local and national events, shows and competitions. We have hosted harmony workshops and held educational events.
